x402 Facilitator

A trusted third-party service that verifies and settles x402 payments on behalf of vendors who don't want to run their own settlement layer.

An x402 Facilitator is a trusted third party that verifies x402 payment payloads and settles the underlying chain transaction on the vendor's behalf. Vendors can choose to run their own settlement (full-stack vendor) or delegate to a facilitator (lower operational burden).

For Mission Control, the facilitator choice is invisible — the wire-level x402 protocol stays the same. But during disputes, the facilitator's signed offer + signed receipt blob becomes important evidence: it proves to a third party (e.g., Stripe Radar, Anthropic, an auditor) that a real settlement occurred.
